3 out of the 4 “Icons” in this book I knew the history and was fascinated to learn of the music that was in their lives and may have influenced their lives. John F. and Robert F. Kennedy were influenced by pop culture of their days. Where as Martin Luther King Jr. was influenced heavily by gospel and spirituals. Thomas Merton was an “icon” I had never heard of but knowing he was a fan of the Beatles and Dylan was all it took for me to be interested.

Not only do you get to find their musical influences but a nice short history reminder is given in the reading of this book. If you are a music fan or a fan of history this book has some great information for everyone.
